The Seahills is the fictitious estate in Houghton-le-Spring in North East England which provides the setting for Sheila Quigley's action-packed thrillers: Run for Home, Bad Moon Rising, Living on a Prayer and Every Breath You Take (and look out for a brand new mystery, Road to Hell).
Come and see Sheila - sometimes teamed up with crime-writing friends Martyn Waites and Ken McCoy, otherwise known as Murder INK - at the following events:
Thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts and good wishes. I have had the cataract operation for both eyes done now, and it was a huge success: I can see for miles - it is fantastic. If this happens to you, please do not be afraid. and get it done as soon as possible.
The Road To Hell is finished, but because of the delay it will not be out at the usual time. Please check back - when I have a date it will be published here.
Meanwhile, I am tossing ideas about for no 6, Thorn In My Side. Since reading a review that said, "Great books, but there are more murders in Houghton le Spring than in Midsummer Murders, I thought: time to take the whole gang on a holiday! So I am thinking of Holy Island, a lot has gone on in the Island's past, and ideas are coming thick and fast.
Once again thank you all for your good wishes.

"You have to have hope, else there's no point in going on, is there?"
"Hope." Kerry spread her arms wide. "Around here? Yer fucking kidding, aren't yer?"
"Now it's not that bad."
"News flash, Sandra... it is that bad."
"No, Kerry pet. This is home. It's my home, it's your home. It's where we belong." She spread her own arms wide in imitation of Kerry. "Where else can yer get a cuppa free when yer need it, an ear when yer need it? These people won't walk past yer in the gutter, they'll pick yer up."
"Aye, maybes, but they'll pick yer pocket while they do it."
"No they won't. No one ever gets mugged or burgled on the Seahills."
Kerry folded her arms across her chest. "Have you flipped yer lid? Nobody's burgled around here, Sandra, cos this is where the burglars live. And the muggers, and the car thieves. There's one just gone in my house."
"Cal! He's a nice lad."
